There was a blue wave across CT last night, and Weston–once again–set an example for voter enthusiasm and our ability to get out the vote for Democratic candidates.
Weston percentages for the definitive Row A victory outperformed CT-wide percentages in every statewide race. We also delivered resounding victories for Ceci Maher and Anne Hughes. See Weston and CT results HERE.
The ballot referendum to allow for early voting passed easily with 58% to 40% results statewide. In Weston, 73% voted YES for this important expansion of voter rights and access to the ballot.
And, the blue wave was shared by our DTC regional partners in Westport, Wilton, Redding & Ridgefield–our VOTE BLUE IN ’22 rallying cry was heard across our district. For statewide results, CLICK HERE (NYTimes subscription may be required).
While we are mindful of important races across the country still to be determined, the Weston DTC celebrates these important victories for our town and for our state.
A big THANK YOU to all the volunteers who knocked on doors, made calls, put out signs, and greeted voters throughout the campaign season. You have our heartfelt appreciation.
THANK YOU to our fantastic candidates for their vision and hard work. We elected an extraordinary team of leaders last night.
Finally–THANK YOU voters for performing your civic duty to support the values we hold dear and to save democracy itself.
With hope for the future and gratitude for what we’ve accomplished together,
Gayle Weinstein–Chair, Weston DTC
