A Celebration of Weston Volunteerism and Public Service
Thank you to everyone who supported and attended the 2023 Democrats of the Year event. This year the DTC recognized multiple individuals for their volunteerism and years of service to Weston. This year’s honorees were Dick Bochinski, who was the recipient of the John Hammerslough Lifetime Achievement Award. Don Scarborough received the Unsung Hero Award and Democratic Community Service Awards went to both Michael Schlechter and Sara Schlechter for their many public service contributions to Weston. In attendance were fellow DTC members, friends, family members, and top state Democratic leaders including U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz, State Treasurer Erick Russell, State Senator Ceci Maher, and State Representative Anne Hughes.
A HUGE shout-out to our event hosts beginning with First Selectwoman Sam Nestor and Michael Nestor who graciously welcomed guests into their home for the June 4th event. Thank you.
