Wed, Jan 15th @ 8:00 PM, Middle School Cafeteria (Public comment in person)

Message from Chairman Mike Imber:
I am writing to you to encourage your attendance at a special Board of Finance public comment meeting on the proposed BOF debt management and available fund balance policies. These BOF polices are still in the process of being crafted and will have a profound impact on the Board of Finance’s approach to considering future infrastructure investments, public financing, and ultimately, our property taxes.
The current drafts (Debt Mgt Policy: CLICK HERE) (Available Fund Balance Policy: CLICK HERE) include some redlines that the BOF has added for consideration. These are NOT approved and are subject to further modification. Attendees are encouraged to read the attached before the meeting; a short PowerPoint summary of each policy will be presented to the audience. Audience members will be given the opportunity to ask questions of BOF members about the policies, make comments and offer suggestions.
You can learn more about the context for this initiative as described in my Dec 13th letter to Weston Today: https://westontoday.news/letters/241213-imber-letter. I genuinely hope that you will join us for the conversation on Wednesday and take an active part.
